DC Dimapur issues order on sealed area
Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): In the interest of the public and safety in view of COVID-19 pandemic and in order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundarajan, IAS has ordered temporary sealing of a house in upper Naharbari (Dimaraja Pond) Dimapur for 48 Hours with immediate effect till further order. In another notification, the DC Dimapur has ordered for temporary sealing of a house opposite Shamrock Hospital, Duncan Basti Dimapur for 48 hours with immediate effect till further order. 
The DC has cautioned that any person violating these containment measures will be liable to be proceeded as per the provisions of section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under section 188 of the IPC. 

DC Peren notifies on Land Possessing Certificate 

Peren, October 27 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS has directed to all concerned that Land Possessing Certificate (LPC) if issued to private individuals at Peren District Hq. without the approval of State Level Acquisition Authority (SLAA) should submit/surrender the same to the undersigned office on or before November 2. Failure to comply with this order, LPC will be cancelled without further notice.

Modern College bid farewell to Principal

Kohima, October 27 (MExN): Modern College, Kohima bid farewell to its Principal, Dr HP Singh. A formal programme in this regard was held on October 27 at the College Auditorium. He came to Nagaland in 1975 as a young 22 year old bachelor and will be leaving Nagaland after 45 years of service to Education. He joined Modern College on September 3, 2010 and has served relentlessly for 10 years which has helped the College grow under his guidance, stated a press release from the College. 

NPF Working Committee meeting 

Kohima, October 27 (MExN): Naga People’s Front (NPF) President, Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu has convened a meeting of the Working Committee (WC) on October 30 at 11: 00 am in the Central Office HQs Kohima. Therefore, all the Working Committee members are requested to attend the meeting without fail. NPF Secretary General, Achumbemo Kikon in a circular stated that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) on COVID-19 will be strictly followed.
 
Spear Corps observes Infantry Day

Dimapur, October 27 (MExN): All ranks of Spear Corps commemorated Infantry Day on October 27 by laying wreaths at War Memorials in Rangapahar, Likabali, Dinjan, Walong and Leimakhong in honour of the supreme sacrifice made by their brethren. It was on this day that the Indian Army troops landed at Srinagar Airfield consequent to signing of the Instrument of Accession to thwart the evil designs of invading hordes of raiders on the outskirts of Srinagar. The gallant act of Infantry soldiers successfully repulsed the raiding tribal. This historic event is now celebrated as Infantry Day by Indian Army, stated a press release issued by Lt Col Sumit K Sharma, PRO (Def) Kohima. In Rangapahar Military Station, Lt Gen RP Kalita AVSM, SM, VSM paid tribute by laying wreath at the War Memorial on the occasion.
