ADC seals two buildings in Tening

Tening, October 7 (MExN): In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive persons through TrueNat Test and in order to take preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 and as per the SOP issued by the Government, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tening sealed two buildings in Tening Town with effect from 8:00 pm of October 6: Community Health Centre (CHC) Tening, located at Ward No. 7 and a house located in Ward No. 6. Public and all concerned have been advised to strictly follow all safety rules such as wearing mask at all times, washing hand frequently and maintenance of social/ physical distancing in order to ensure public hygiene and personal safety within proximity of the sealed area. Any person found violating of the order would be prosecuting as per the provisions of relevant Acts/ Rules.

BWU Mon 25th anniversary on Nov 13

Mon, October 7 (MExN): The Baptist Women Union Mon Town (BWU Mon) will be celebrating its 25th anniversary under the theme ‘Celebrating the life of Christ’ on November 13 at 1:00 pm in Newsite Fellowship, Konyak Baptist Church Mon. The speakers for the celebration will be Lemya, Women Secretary, KBBB (Konyak Baptist Church Association) and Convener, B Lomei Konyak.

CEO Nagaland notifies 

Kohima, October 7 (MExN): With reference to the Bye-Election to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2020 from 14-Southern Angami-I (ST) and 60-Pungro-Kiphire (ST) assembly constituencies, the office of the CEO Nagaland has notified the following: October 16-last date for making nominations; October 17- date for the scrutiny of nominations; October19- the last date for the withdrawal of candidatures; November3- the date on which a poll shall, if necessary, be taken; and November 12- the date before which the election shall be completed; and fixes the hours from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm as the hours during which the poll shall, if necessary, be taken on the date specified above for the election. 

CPO supports CWWS

Kohima, October 7 (MExN): The attention of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) is drawn over the recent issue wherein Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS) has filed legal remedy over the “irreparable damage on the identity of the traditional shawls” which were showcased during Suraj Kund Crafts Mela led by Ritu Beri, Fashion Designer and Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd. (TRIFED). CPO expressed strong resentment over such act and extended full support to CWWS that traditional attire and values are to be protected by any cost and that the status quo are restored and maintained.  This was stated in a release issued by CPO president Mikha Kenye and publicity & information secretary Vipanyi Krome.

DC & DEO Kohima informs political parties

Kohima, October 7 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS has informed that in view of the Bye-General Election to the 14 Southern Angami I Assembly Constituency, and in pursuance of the instructions of the Election Commission of India it is hereby informed to all concerned, particularly the political parties, candidates and party workers that cash exceeding Rs 50,000 found in a vehicle carrying a candidate, his agent or party workers or carrying posters or election materials or any drugs, liquor, arms or gift items which are valued at more than Rs.10,000, likely to be used for inducement of electors shall be subject to seizure. Members of the public carrying any amount in cash exceeding Rs 50,000 should always keep some relevant documents with them which substantiates the source and purpose of the money. 

DDCF executive meeting on Oct 10 

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): All affiliated units of Dimapur District Citizens' Forum (DDCF) are informed that the 3rd executive meeting will be held on October 10 at 11:00 am in the DDCF Office. Therefore all the presidents, chairman, executive members and advisors are requested to attend the meeting without fail. All members are also requested to follow the prevailing SOPs like social distancing, wearing of Masks, hand washing and use of sanitizers etc.

Physical verification for pensioners in Wokha 

Wokha, October 7 (MExN): The Senior Treasury Officer, Wokha has notified that there will be physical verification for pensioners under Wokha district for the year 2020 on October 20 and 21. Therefore, all the pensioners have been informed to attend the verification on the maintain date positively, failing to attend shall entail the pension as closed and submit the same to AG Nagaland after the completion of verification. 

Team constituted for NTCP in Mon District 

Mon, October 7 (MExN): District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) under National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) meeting was held at Mon Town Council Committee hall on October 7. Ilika, SDO (civil) Mon chaired the programme while the E Nyeamying Konyak, District Consultant (NTCP) Mon delivered a brief introduction. Dr I Simon Sumi, District Nodal Officer NTCP Mon spoke on the use of tobacco and its effect of health. The following members were set up for National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) in Mon District: Deputy Commissioner as Chairperson; District Nodal Officer (NTCP) as Member secretary; and members including Superintendent of Police, Project Director, DRDA, District Education Officer, Superintendent of Taxes, Superintendent of Excise, District Public Relation Officer, District Transport Officer, President KNSK, President ANPSA and President KSU. 

Workshop on MCMC in Kohima on Oct 8

Kohima, October 7 (MExN): In view of the announcement of Bye-election for filling up casual vacancy in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, 2020 from 14-Southern Angami-I (ST) & 60-Pungro-Kiohire (ST) AC, an awareness Workshop with the representatives of all print and electronic media in the State on Election Expenditure Monitoring/Paid News, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) and media related matters is convened on the October 8 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima from 11:00 am onwards. Therefore, all concerned have been requested to attend the aforesaid workshop positively.

Skill training held in Mon 

Mon, October 7 (MExN): Skill training on job oriented skill development programme on plumbing and two wheeler maintaining and repairing for 30 days training for returnees of COVID-19 was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K and Addl DC Mon, Rahul Mali respectively at Leangha village and Goching village on October 4 and 5. The programme was organised by Youth Action for Social Service (YASS) sponsored by NABARD.The objective of the programmes has to give an employment opportunity for unemployed COVID-19 youth returnees under Mon district.
