The Office of the RBI Ombudsman, Guwahati and Integrated Banking Department, RBI Guwahati organised an awareness programme on Reserve Bank Integrated Ombudsman Scheme and e-BAAT (Electronic Banking Awareness and Training) for students and faculty of Japfü Christian College (JCC), Kigwema on September 24. The programme was conducted to give awareness on RBI Ombudsman Scheme, 2021 and e-BAAT. Partha Choudhuri, Chief General Manager and Ombudsman, RBI, Guwahati gave the welcome address and Sanjeev Singha, Regional Director, NER, RBI Guwahati, gave the opening address. 

Salt Christian College (SCC), Dimapur conducted its 29thFreshers' Meet cum Cultural Day at Meren Chapel hall under the theme ‘Scribbling New Paths’ on September 24. In the first session, invocation was said by Rev Thebemo Yanthan, Campus Minister and welcome address was delivered by Bulie L Konyak, GS of SUSCC, while a short speech was delivered by Dr R Choudhury, Principal of SCC. Speech on behalf of freshers was delivered by Muzakir. Major M Longkumer shared his life experiences about how life has so much to offer not forgetting to enjoy life as a student and to grab the opportunities that come along. In the next session, various performances were presented by students and guest artists during the second session. Arentula and Raj Babu Prasad were crowned Miss and Mr Fresher SCC 2022 respectively. 

Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima conducted medical camp at Church area on September 24. It was initiated and sponsored by Dr T Lima Jamir, Missionary Tiamongba Longchar of Light House Mission Dimapur in collaboration with Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima. More than 100 patients from Church members availed the facility and were given free medicines and spectacles free of cost, according to their ailments. Dr Leena Sen, General Physician, Eden Medical Centre, Dr Enoka Achumi, Eye specialist, Mercy Eye Centre, Dr Rahul Barauh, Palon Rewalk, Apollo Hospital Physiotherapist Guwahati, Dr Avinash Chetri, Dental Surgeon, Dental Oral Clinic Chümoukedima conducted the camp.

The Mount Tiyi College NSS Unit organised celebration of NSS foundation day cum orientation programme for the NSS Volunteers on September 24. ‘My experience as an NSS Volunteer’ was shared by Chumreni B Lotha, 5th Semester and introduction to NSS was taken by Rentsamo J Humtsoe (Programme Officer, Mount Tiyi College, NSS Unit) followed by Singing of the NSS Anthem and Benediction by Ekonbeni M Tsanglao (Assistant Professor, Department of English). The Government Higher Secondary School, Chozuba organised the NSS Day 2022 under the theme, ‘NSS and the Society’ with Veyito Nyekha, District Resource Person District Industries Centre, Phek on September 24. The keynote address was delivered by Angelo Pfithu, Programme Officer NSS GHSS Chozuba Unit. The programme was chaired by Mhasisanuo Yhoshu, PGT and opening prayer was pronounced by Deibaule Disong, VT. After the formal programme, the PO along with speaker and volunteers visited CHC Chozuba with some basic necessities for the patients and staffs and later donated five planted pots at Chozuba Town. The Runguzu Baptist Church (RBC) organized a special prayer programme at the Church premises. Runguzumi citizens from Kohima, Dimapur, Phek and Chozuba also joined the programme on September 25. Former state chaplain Rev K.Luruo, spoke at the morning service. He said that obedience to God bring blessings and successful life. He also called upon the congregation to be committed and stay obedience for prosperous and decent life. RBC pastor Nuvotso informed that the programme has been organized to seek God blessings and thanksgiving. (Morung Photo)

Mega Credit Outreach Camps were held on September 24 at 12 districts across the state namely Kohima, Mokokchung, Dimapur, Wokha, Zunheboto, Phek, Kiphire, Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Tseminyu and Peren (Jalukie) organised by Lead District Managers and various Banks present in the districts and in collaboration with District Administrations, Department of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry and Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and Village authorities.  All together around 6000 KCC loan applications were distributed to PM KISAN beneficiaries. It was held in addition to weekly camps held by the Lead District Managers and Bank Branches for special saturation drive commencing from September 1 to November 31.

Kohima Law College Students’ Union (KLCSU) celebrated its 43rd Freshers meet at Red Cross Conference Hall Kohima on September 23 last under the theme, “Venturing proficiency into legal fraternity.” Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu, chairman, Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board graced the occasion as the guest speaker. Wangshi Meren Pongen and Mhaletsonuo Whuorie were declared as Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher 2022 respectively. Earlier, keynote address was delivered by KLC principal Soni Tep. The Livingstone foundation International College NSS cell commemorating NSS Foundation Day on September 24 organized social work in Sub Healthcare centre, Signal Angami village Dimapur under the theme ‘Community outreach’.
