The by-election to the post of Kohima Press Club (KPC) General Secretary was held at KPC office in APO Building Complex, Kohima on August 23. Vishü Rita Krocha was elected as the new general secretary for the 2022-25 tenure of KPC executive body. Altogether 39 out of the 50 electors casted their vote for the 3 candidates – Vishü Rita Krocha, Seyiekietuo Keretsu and Loreni Tsanglao. Chief Election Commissioner, Narayan Bahadur along with Commissioners, Krushal Charen Momin and Nchumthung Odyuo handed over the winning certificate to Krocha.


The NCC Cadets of Kohima College affiliated to 1 Nagaland NCC Girls Batallion, Kohima visited ‘Good Samaritan Senior Citizen’s Home, Meriema in Kohima district on August 22. A brief programme was conducted wherein cadets interacted with the inmates of the Home and handed over the essential articles such as water tank, bed sheet, milk, detergents and other articles of daily needs. As part of the SVEEP Campaign 2023-24, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland conducted a SVEEP Logo design contest on the theme ‘My Vote Matters’, wherein the logo design submitted by David Shitio from Kohima District was declared the winner. A cash prize of Rs 15,000 was handed over to the winner by Ruokuovituo Khezhie, CEO (Officiating) at his office chamber on August 23. 


Pinnacle Skills in collaboration with the Career Guidance & Placement Cell of Model Christian College, organised a career guidance programme for the students of the college. The resource persons present were, Deboyoti Sarkarr (Head Business Development & Placements), Shefaly Dutta (Programme Coordinator & Students’ Advisor, IBM Career Education: North & East), Arenla Kitho (Sr. Manager, Pinnacle Skills), Tongpangkokba (Asst. Manager Operations).


Rengma Hoho team conducted its 2nd phase visit and toured government offices and institution on August 22. The objective of the tour was to assess and understand the offices’ operations in and around Tseminyu and getting to know the functioning of various departments. As part of the Nationwide Social Media outreach campaign ‘Shankhnaad’, the BJP Nagaland State and Districts level Social Media and IT Workshop was conducted at the party head office, Kohima on August 23. Social Media and IT Incharge for NE States and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shantanu Kalita, conducted the workshop. National IT Incharge and National executive member Amit Malviya addressed the gathering virtually. State party President, Temjen Imna Along along with the State office bearers, morcha heads, State and District SM and IT convenors/co-convenors, and Kohima district officials also attended the workshop. 


The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Livingstone Foundation International College organised a seminar on the topic ‘Health Implications of Sex & Gender Differences’ in LFI Auditorium on August 23. It was sponsored by the Bank of Baroda, Dimapur. The bank chief manager, Ramendra Nath Dubey graced the programme as the special guest and Dr LeishiwonKumrah, HoD, Department of Dermatology CIHSR was the resource person. 


In a bid to make Longleng district plastic-free, the SP Office Longleng and the PBCA collaborated with the Anmol Sahara team to organize three-day training on making plastic-free products. The session was inaugurated by SP Longleng, Dr Pritpal Kaur IPS, who urged everyone to follow environmental protection rules and make Longleng a more progressive district. The Anmol Sahara team, led by Ekta, taught the trainees how to make paper bags, add value to products, and package them in a sustainable way. The PBCA ES also gave the trainees words of encouragement and prayed for their success.
