Kohima, October 27 (MExN): The Nagaland Hotel & Restaurant Association (NHRA) on Monday issued a set of directives to its members, focusing on regulatory compliance and security.
The association reminded its bonafide members to use a proper and valid Trade Licence issued by the relevant Municipal or Town Council in the name of the establishment's operator to avoid unfair practices.
In a statement, the NHRA further instructed members to strictly adhere to the State Government's mandatory guidelines. These include Fire Safety measures, Pollution Control, Health & Food Safety, Waste Management, EPF, and Liquor & Entertainment licences. The directives also emphasize maintaining proper guest registration with valid ID cards, ensuring customer safety, and prohibiting the allotment of rooms to minors and students in uniform.
The Union warned that it would not hesitate to take action against any erring members as per the provisions of the NHRA Constitution for non-compliance.
Regarding instances of intimidation or threats for taxation or forceful donations from any individuals or groups, the NHRA advised its members not to succumb to such pressure but to deal with the matter in accordance with the law.
