Nagaland offers package for eco & adventure tourism

Courtesy the State’s Tourism department giving due importance towards promotion of eco-rural tourism to encourage sustainable tourism in the long run, Nagaland is undoubtedly offering an ideal package for eco and adventure tourism with the rapid growth of tourism related amenities in the rural areas of the State. 

With such development, tourists needs no longer worry about accommodation as they can now stay conveniently be it by the river or in the valleys and mountains and explore the fauna and flora and fun filled adventurous activities. Tourists desiring to experience a break taking scenery, swimming and fishing can now have a thrilling holiday package at Eco & Adventure Tourism Complex at Tizu river, Meluri, bordering Myanmar which was inaugurated by Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Law & Justice Yitachu on Wednesday.

Tizu river in Phek district, which flow towards Myanmar is reportedly the longest river in Nagaland. This river among two others already identified as having potential for inland water transport to Myanmar.

The newly inaugurated Eco & Adventure Tourism Complex at Tizu River has 6 bed facilities, conference hall, restaurants, etc. Any tourist can now avail the packages at reasonable cost.

Parliamentary Secretary said the government has created the infrastructure and it is now the responsibility of those parties manning the complex to manage it well and use it well for its purpose. 

He stated that a regulatory system and suitable activity needs to be framed by the concerned party. 

He also stated that Jungle Safari can also work wonder in this location. He also stressed on the need to create peaceful environment so as to flourish tourism activities in the state. 

Yitachu maintained that developmental activities, policies and programmes of the government will land in the right track only when peaceful atmosphere prevails. Earlier, the inaugural programme was chaired by K. Yanpanthung, Director Tourism while Joint Director P. Angami delivered welcome address. Vote of thanks was proposed by Joint Director K. T. Thomas.
