Kohima, March 14 (MExN): In commemoration of the 10th year anniversary of its formation, the Nagaland Parents’ Association for the Disabled (NAPAD) kick-started the observation of yearlong events by visiting the Old Age Home, Kohima on March 14.
A press release received here stated that a programme was held where Dr Joyce Angami, Advisor NAPAD exhorted the gathering with the importance of giving. She said that if you give to others, God will give to you. “A person who gives will receive blessing in full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands all that you can hold,” she added.
Dr Tali Imsong, President, NAPAD in his speech acknowledged the benevolent service rendered by the Director of the Old Age Home, Kohima to the society especially the old age people. He said that the old people who are in the Home should not feel distress and isolated because their children or the relatives are not caring them and let them be in the Home. In fact they should feel more privileged and happy that they are in the Old Age Home with proper care and the fact that they are in the Kohima Town, they are in quick access to the Hospitals to have proper medical treatment in times of need. He extolled the Director for her courage, dedication and care she has given to the elderly people.
Acknowledging the visit of the NAPAD to the Old Age Home, Director, Neithonuo Liegise thanked the NAPAD members for the kind gesture and generosity shown. She expressed her gratitude and happiness on the significant visit on the significant day of 10th years Anniversary of NAPAD. She stated that elderly people are also disabled and that the society and we need to give special focus and care. She also expressed for more such collaborated programmes for the old age people even in the near future.
Sanen Amer, Coordinator, NAPAD chaired the Programme and Kapochu Naleo pronounced the benediction.
