Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): During the current fiscal year, the Department of Geology and Mining (DoGM), Nagaland has “increased revenue collection from Rs 70 lakh to Rs 211 lakh, which is 201% raised, according to an update from the department issued on Friday.
The update stated that Nagaland Minister for Geology & Mining V Kashiho Sangtam visited all coal bearing districts across the State to assess coal production and mechanism for enhancement of revenue generation from coal sector on March 11 and 12.
The Minster was accompanied by Commissioner & Secretary to Government of Nagaland, K Libanthung Lotha, IAS and senior officers of the Department.
The Minister and his team conducted meeting with all stakeholders, village councils, landowners, coal operators, transporters etc and patiently heard their grievances. Kashiho assured all possible helps from the Government and requested all the stakeholders to extend their cooperation to the department officials performing their duties and responsibilities at the district level.
The team also inspected some designated mineral gates and proposed sites for setting up of coal depot.
