Nagaland registers 174 new COVID-19 cases, 373 recoveries

The number of recoveries exceeded the number of new COVID-19 cases in Nagaland for the second day, as the State reported 174 new cases against 373 recoveries on June 1.

State Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed that out of the new cases reported on Tuesday, Dimapur had 58 cases, Mokokchung 43, Tuensang 20, Kohima 16, Mon 12, Phek 10, Wokha 8, Zunheboto 5 while Kiphire and Longleng had 1 new case each.

The new recoveries on Tuesday were reported from Kohima (208), Mon (57), Dimapur (36), Tuensang (22), Zunheboto (17), Phek (16,) Mokokchung (10), Longleng (5) and Wokha (2).

With the latest figures, the tally of COVID-19 cases in Nagaland as on June 1 was 21,854 while total recovery was at 16,111. The total number of active cases in the State stands at 4,725 as per the Nagaland COVID-19 bulletin issued by the State Health and Welfare Department. 226 patients are currently admitted in the COVID hospitals while 4227 are under home isolation.

Meanwhile, 9 new deaths were registered in Nagaland on June 1 with Dimapur registering 5 new deaths and Kohima 2. Kiphire and Phek reported 1 new death each. The overall death toll in the State is 372. In the ‘not COVID related’ category, there are 13 deaths reported till date.
