Nagaland reports more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh cases

Kohima, September 19 (PTI): Nagaland reported more COVID-19 recoveries than fresh infections on Sunday as 28 patients got cured while 24 new cases pushed the tally to 30,864, a health official said.

As many as 28,780 people have recuperated from the infection so far and the COVID-19 recovery rate in the state is 93.24 per cent, the official said.

Dimapur district registered the highest number of new cases at 13, followed by Kohima (9) and Longleng (2).

At present, Nagaland has 484 active COVID-19 cases, seven less than the number of active cases on Saturday.

The coronavirus death toll remained at 653, as the state has not reported any new fatality due to the disease in the last 24 hours.

Altogether 947 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other states, the official said. Thus far,  357,437 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in Nagaland.        

A total of 970,648 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 6,76,984 persons in the state as of Saturday, said State Immunisation Officer Dr. Ritu Thurr.
