NSACS launches official logo, QR code, jersey for National Red Run 3.0

As part of the curtain raiser for the upcoming National Red Run 3.0, the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) launched the official logo including QR code for registration in the Open (General) Category-2 km run and official jersey for Open Category runners.

It was formally launched on October 23 by NASCS project director Dr Ahu Sekhose during a press conference in the presence of officials from Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) at NOA office complex, Kohima.

National Red Run 3.0, (Mini - marathon) will take place on October 30 at Agri Expo, 4th Mile, Chümoukedima under the banner of NSACS in collaboration with NOA and NAA.

The event is being hosted by the Government of Nagaland and supported by National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

The National Red Run 3.0 is a flagship initiative aimed at raising awareness on HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), promoting healthy and active lifestyles, and engaging youth and communities in collective action for health and well-being.

One of the highlights of this year’s event is the Open (General) Category Run, covering 2 km, which is expected to see participation from around 700 runners.

This includes representatives from schools, colleges, youth organisations, churches, government departments, local communities, NGOs, and other partners-making the event truly inclusive and participatory, according to NSACS.

For 10 km National Red Run competition event, Dr Sekhose said “ We are expecting 140 participants from about 34 to 25 State AIDS Control Society” across India.

These young athletes embody the spirit of sportsmanship, awareness, and commitment to ending stigma around HIV.

For General Category (2 km Run), NSACS is expecting more than 700 participants from hosting state Nagaland.

For this, online registration is open for 200 participants only on a first-come, first-served basis.

To register, one can scan the QR code and complete details in the online form provided.

Registration will close automatically once the limit is reached.

In this connection, NSACS encouraged the interested participants to register early for this open category. “Let’s come together, run for awareness, and make every step count towards a healthier, stigma-free future,” NSACS stated. “We are getting all the technical guidance and inputs from NOA and NAA for Red Run 3.0,” said Dr. Sekhose and thanked them for collaborating with NSACS.

NOA Assistant Secretary General, Neivikuolie Khatsu, NAA honorary treasurer,  Neingulie Nakhro and joint director (IEC & MS), NSACS, Metevinuo Sakhrie also present at the curtain raiser programme.
