Nagaland School Edu Advisor takes stock of education sector in Noklak

Nagaland School Education & SCERT Advisor, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome alongwith the School Education Department has undertaken a two-day tour of Noklak for improvement of education system in the district.

Presently, there are 26 Government Primary Schools (GPS), 9 Government Middle Schools (GMS), 4 Government High Schools (GPS) and 1 Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in Noklak district.

Dr. Yhome inspected the GHSS Noklak today. GHSS Noklak has an enrolment of 615 of which 336 are girls and 279 are boys.

The Advisor stressed on the need to expedite the process of shifting GHSS Noklak to the Model School building which lies unoccupied, although the building was completed in 2014. He also inspected the Model School building and later visited the office building of SDEO Noklak and Kasturba Gandhi Balaka Vidyalaya, Noklak.

Earlier, interacting with the district administration, civil societies, the Khiamniungan Students Union (KSU) and the School Education Department at Noklak Tourist Lodge on August 31, Dr Yhome assured to study the matter for creation of a new EBRC at Thonoknyu.

He called upon the district administration, civil societies, the public and the department to collectively work for enhancement of quality education. The Advisor informed that the School Education Department is all set to frame a comprehensive formula to streamline education system in the state.

He assured that the department will exercise positive approach to take education forward in the state.

Stressing on the need to increase the level of enrolment in the government schools in Nagaland, he told the teachers to create student friendly atmosphere to attract more students to the government schools. 

He also challenged the Khiamniungan community to collectively help build a prosperous Noklak district.

Dr Yhome called upon the people to repose their trust on government schools, as it possesses qualified teachers, including offering free text books, uniforms and midday meal facilities.

Noklak Deputy Commissioner, Arikumba; Avelu Ruho, Joint Secretary, School Education and Deputy Project Director, NECTAR, Nagaland; KSU President, Shangchiu and other dignitaries were also present during the interactive session. 

Later, the SDEO Noklak made a plea to Dr Yhome for early upgradation of the SDEO office to that of DEO, opening of two more EBRCs in Noklak district, and posting of sufficient subject teachers.
