Tuensang, September 27 (DIPR): World Tourism Day was observed on September 27 at Tuensang town hall, organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland and Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA).
Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, Law & Justice Yitachu graced the programme as the chief guest. In his speech, Yitachu said that tourism in the modern civilisation is one of the biggest and fastest growing industries. He said that Nagaland State has enough potential for the development of this industry provided we streamline and organise with systematic planning of programme. He however added that peace is the pre-requisite for any human and urged the people to maintain peace in the State. The programme began with the invocation of God’s blessing by Pastor TTBC, Sangkap, chaired by Joint Director Tourism, Purakhu Angami. The keynote address at World Tourism Day held at Tuensang was delivered by Tourist Officer, V. Doulo and Deputy Commissioner Tuensang; T. Mhabemo Yanthan NCS spoke on the importance and significance of the day’s programme. President NTA, Neisatuo Keditsu also shared his experiences in the Travel Trade. Nuchai Khaim and Vylila both presented special numbers and the Chang tribe presented a folk song and General Secretary NTA, Kechangulie Kense delivered the vote of thanks.
