Swachhata Pakhwada - under Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign was observed from November 1 to 15 in all the 64 Child Care Institutions in Nagaland.

Kohima, November 17 (MExN): As directed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Child Protection Services Nagaland, Department of Social Welfare observed Swachhata Pakhwada - under Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) campaign, from November 1 to 15 in all the 64 Child Care Institutions (CCIs) in the State.
At the district level the Campaign was carried forward by the respective District Child Protection Units (DCPUs), Raitale Zeliang, Programme Manager (SCPS) Child Protection Services Nagaland, Department of Social Welfare stated in a press release.
DCPU along with the CCIs functionaries initiated various activities such as Fumigation of CCI premises, Cleaning of water storage tank, Orientation programme on “Water, sanitation and Hygiene” (WASH), Wall painting with Swachhata message, programme on personal hygiene, Activities like trimming of nails, washing of hands, cleaning of wardrobes, drying of beddings etc, Film Show on Health and Hygiene and Plantation Drive in all the 11 districts.
Various competitions such as Art craft competition on the theme “Best out of Waste” and Poem Competition on “Health and sanitation” were also organized by the District Child protection Units for the children in CCIs.
At present there are a total of 64 Child Care Institutions in the State of which 14 are Government run Child Care Institutions and the remaining 50 are NGO run Homes. At present there are more than 600 children living in these CCIs.
