Nagaland School Education Department has launched Teachers’ Online Transfer Portal in the year 2020 which can be accessed by the teachers using their registered mobile phone number. The portal displays their present employment details and cadre vacancy position available throughout the state, according to Annual Administrative Report 2021-22 of the state’s department of School Education tabled at the recent state’s assembly session.
Interested teachers can apply for transfer to their preferred places of postings. The department will process all the applications received during the given period and issue bulk Transfer Orders, the report stated. The report stated that transfer and posting of teachers in schools is a regular practice being carried out by the department due to promotions and retirements caused every year. Teachers also seek transfer on their own due to personal reasons.
In order to ensure smooth functioning of schools, these transfers need to be done well ahead of the commencement of the academic year. Adopting a transparent process in this exercise would do justice to all stakeholders such as teachers, schools and the department. Moreover, as per National Education Policy 2020, it is mandatory to carry out teacher’s transfers through online computerized system that ensures transparency.
Teacher’s APP
The report stated that the present education system has made it mandatory that teachers use online education tools for carrying out their day-to-day teaching learning activities, Therefore, keeping teachers updated with latest developments in the field of education is very much essential.
The Teacher’s APP launched by the department helps teachers connected to the required online education resources with ease. The Report stated that Teacher’s APP serves as a direct communication channel between the Directorate, District level Officers and Teachers. Each and every teacher & head of institution will be mapped through the APP and this well lead to improvement of quality of services at different levels in the department, the report stated.
Nagaland Education Management and Information System
The school education department has developed and launched Nagaland Education Management and Information System (NEMIS) for monitoring all aspects of school education such as school management, data of teaching and non-teaching staff, complete details of students such as their academic performance, health records, transition rate, dropout rate etc. on real time basis. This system will enable the department to track the complete schooling history of a child at the click of a mouse, the report stated.
