KOHIMA, MARCH 4 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, RN Ravi today said that the NHIDCL has commenced preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for 500 more kms of highways, covering the North- South corridor in Eastern Nagaland between Mon and Avangkhu and East-West corridor connecting Tuensang, Noklak, Kiphire and Zhunheboto to Dimapur. A press release from the PRO to the Governor informed that approval “in principal” has been given for these highways, adding that this move would mitigate the huge connectivity deficit in eastern Nagaland and the remote districts of the State. “These highways will be the game changers for our people living in remote districts,” the Governor stated while thanking Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. The Governor further informed that he has been assured by the MORTH of fast pace progress on all their road projects in Nagaland.
