Nagaland bagged the top list in the country for trainees passed in National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) Examination with overall pass percentage of 88.70%.

Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kohima deputy director Er H Alongse said this during the Institute’s first Convocation Ceremony on September 17.

Speaking on the occasion as the special invitee, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship director Chiden Yaden congratulated all the successful trainees and urged them to continue to work hard.

Yaden advised them to stay focused on their vision with sincerity and commitment.

He also lauded faculty and staff of ITI for playing a pivotal role towards the remarkable achievement of the institute in the NCVT examination.

Er H. Alongse, who is also Principal in-charge of Government ITI Kohima, said “It is a proud moment for the whole institute.”

SBLK pastor Rev Thsadongse Sangtam invoked God blessings while the programme was chaired by Molumenla Esther.
Govt ITI faculty Konyi Seb also spoke at the convocation ceremony. Response from trainees was delivered by Tovi Achumi (draughtsman civil) while vote of thanks was proposed by Ruokuohezo Suohu (Foreman).
 
Toppers receive awards
NCVT toppers Tovi Achumi (87.30%) and Tekasangla Jamir (79.00 %) both in Draughtsman Civil trade received awards from the Institute, along with two toppers of State Council of Vocational Training (SCVT)- Mughani Puchu (85.00%) in Cutting & Sewing and Rokovizo Pienyu (80.50%) in COPA.

Notably, 80 trainees came successful out of 82 appeared in NCVT while 108 out of 114, passed in SCVT.

The Government ITI Kohima has 33 faculty members, with 15 numbers of trades. It offers training on Carpenter Mechanic Diesel; Welder; Draughtsman Civil; Electrician; Fitter; Machinist; Mechanic Motor Vehicle; Surveyor; Cutting & Sewing; Knitting; Hair & Skin Care; COPA; I&CTSM; Carpenter; Mason and Plumber.

SCTV is based on examination conducted by Directorate of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Nagaland, on norms laid by Directorate General of Training (DGT).

NCTV is based on examination conducted by DGT where the Directorate General of Training in Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is the apex organisation for development and coordination at National level for the programmes relating to vocational training including Women's Vocational Training.
