‘Nagaland’s music is now global-Facing,’ says TaFMA Chairman

Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA) Chairman Theja Meru on Saturday extended greetings to musicians across the state on the occasion of World Music Day, observed annually on June 21.

“Nagaland’s music is now global-facing, with our artists taking our stories, creativity, and culture to the world stage,” Meru said.

Expressing pride in the state’s musicians, he said, “As Chairman of TaFMA, I am proud of our musicians and celebrate their contributions to the incredible journey of Nagaland’s music and the growing global recognition of our vibrant music landscape.”

Meru wished everyone a “Happy World Music Day!”

World Music Day in Kohima
The Symphony Academy of Music, Kohima, will be organizing 11th edition of World Music Day 2026 at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima on June 21from 5:00 PM onwards.

The event will feature popular bands like, About Us, Fifth Note, Run Monday Run, Divine Connection including renowned singers Atiro Kiho, Azi Rudy and Arenlong.

Entry fee has been fixed at Rs 200. The visitors can access food and beverage stall at the venue.

This year event is presented by Musicians Guild, Out Loud Inc, Life Pro Productions, Synergy Group, Mean Machine and powered by Audio Gear, Biglife Events, Beat Devices, CZ Powerline and Unitex Powerline. 

The Heritage will assist as Venue Partner and Alder Retreat and The Eastgate Hotel as Hospitality Partner.
