Dimapur, Feb 27 (MExN): Expressing oneness with the joyful amazement of the people experienced at the Nagaland Prayer Festival which concluded on February 26, renowned evangelist Reverend Dr Paul Dinakaran who was one of the three main speakers, said that God has placed for the Naga people hope and it was there to be availed of infinitely if they search for God ceaselessly like they do now.
“When I prayed to the Lord this morning, the Lord showed me that the Naga people would rise up for there Hope has been placed for the people by God” Reverend Dr Paul Dinakaran said talking to The Morung Express after the concluding vesper of the prayer festival. “There is great hope for the Naga people. The Nagas are simple people but they are safe in God like a child” Reverend Dr Dinakaran said. He expressed strong affirmation that the Nagas would wither the problems of the present times rife in bloodshed and division but only if they continue to search for God ceaselessly like they do now. “I see that God has taken control of the Nagas through this prayer festival; Naga youths will rise up to intellectual level and leadership all over the country; the lord showed me that the Naga people will be righteous people; the lord showed me that Naga people would thrive in business (for which God would use to reach out to the world)” he said.
Recalling his earlier visit in 1995, the evangelist expressed amazement that such a crowd, about 1, 30,000 as seen at the festival would attend. “The crowds this time was more. I feel that this signifies the Nagas’ search for God. It was a new experience for me” Dr Dinakaran said. To the query what objective he carried hoping to achieve coming to Nagaland he said that he came to pray for the people and that they be blessed to live in peace. Also acknowledging the present political unrest that the state is going through Dr Paul expressed hope that the government would continue to depend on God for guidance and wisdom to find the way of peace and deliverance. “I am happy to know that the government and the leaders are seeking God’s help through prayer. The leaders are holding prayers for the people. It is through God that peace can be achieved. Man cannot bring peace” he averred.
The Planning Board of the festival also expressed happiness that the festival had gone beyond expectations. “It was beyond our expectation. It was a wonderful experience. We had a tough time accommodating the people” Dr Kheshito Zimo, Chairman, said adding that apart from the local people many non-locals and non-Christians also attended. He also informed that the board was praying for a Prayer tower where people can use it as a centre for prayer requests and healing.
