Kohima, June 1 (MExN): Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Youth Department has mourned the demise of Dr Thamsing on May 31.
NBCC Youth Department, Secretary, Rev Vikuo in a condolence message said that Dr Thamsing was one of the first to introduced church sports ministry in Nagaland and North East India around 2003/2004. ‘He toured around churches in Nagaland demonstrating the skills and attracted many young people to Christ.’ Along with few NBCC youth leaders Dr Thamsing initiated formation of Nagaland Sports Coalition (NSC) and networked with India Sports Coalition, South-East Asia and World Sports Coalition.
“He was truly the ambassador of Christ through Church Sports. We are happy that he is promoted to God's glory but humanly speaking we have lost a great soul who has great passion for Christ and loves the young people,” Rev Vikuo stated and conveyed condolences to the family members.
One Challenge Ministries India: The One Challenge Ministries India also mourned the demise of Dr Thamsing. Rev Dr Phuveyi Dozo, One Challenge Ministries, India; Nagaland in a condolence message said that Dr Thamsing joined his ministry in 2000 and faithfully continued in Sports wing.
He was a single hearted person for his Savior under the slogan of ‘Christ for Youth through Sports’. He introduced Jesus to many youth in Northeastern states and beyond. He was internationally known as a sports person for Jesus. “We lost a great and an enthusiastic leader,” it stated.
