Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) has informed all the devotees of Chhath Puja Mahaparv that due to COVID-19 pandemic situation, it would not be able to celebrate the festival at the banks of River Dhansiri, Dimapur.
The Samaj has appealed the devotees to observe/celebrate the Chhath Puja at their respective homes/premises by maintaining standard operating procedures issued by the Government.
Meanwhile, the NBS also called for people to give up firecrackers during Chhath Puja as well as Deepawali in order to make the festivals ‘soundless and smoke-free’. It also sought prayers for the recovery of those infected with COVID-19. While extending festival greetings, the NBS also issued an advisory to ‘stay home and stay safe’.
