NCC cadets attend lecture on cyber security

Jotsoma, June 23 (MExN): Dr KPA Ilyas, DIG, CID, Police Headquarters, Kohima visited the ongoing CATC-29 being conducted by 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, at Sazolie College, Jotsoma on June 23.

An update from PRO (Defence), Kohima & Imphal stated that during the visit, the DIG interacted with the cadets and presented a lecture on cyber security. In his lecture Dr Ilyas shared examples of misuse of cyberspace such as hacking and leakage of personal and confidential information and educated them on risks and implications of doing so. He emphasised on importance of preventing oneself from falling victim to cybercrimes and urged the cadets to be alert and always maintain cyber protocol. 

He encouraged the cadets in particular and youth in general for their contribution towards spreading awareness on cyber security in their families, friends and communities, for which they must first and foremost be thorough with the concept of cyberspace and cyber security.  The speaker was presented with a memento by Col Manjeet Katoch, Camp Commandant, CATC-29.
