NCC CATC underway at LFI Dimapur

Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-108) of 1 Nagaland Girls Batallion NCC, Kohima under the aegis of NCC Group HQ, Kohima commenced on December 13 with a total of 455 NCC Cadets from various institutes of Nagaland, along with ANOs and instructor staff attending the camp.

The aim of the NCC Camp which is being held at Livingstone Foundation International HSS, Dimapur, is to impart collective training to NCC Cadets with special emphasis on the development of qualities of leadership. Not only are the cadets being trained in weapon handling, drill, firing and military subjects, they are also trained and tested in stamina, hygiene, grooming and discipline through activities like tent pitching, tug of war, cultural programmes, flag area briefing and line area briefing and many more activities, an official press release informed on December 19.

Col Manjeet Katoch, the Camp Commandant and Commanding Officer, informed that guest lectures by eminent personalities on modes of entry into the Armed Forces, Agniveer Vayu Recruitment have been conducted. Brig PS Sangwan, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Kohima interacted with the cadets at the camp and interviewed potential SSB aspirants on December 15 and 16.

An equipment display by Assam Rifles and lecture-cum-demonstration on disaster management by the State Disaster Response Force was conducted on December 18 followed by the cultural programme-cum-prize distribution ceremony on December 19. The cadets will disperse from camp site on December 20.
