NCC Northeast ADG visits Nagaland, calls on Governor

Kohima, March 26 (MExN): Major General Ananta Bhuyan, Sena Medal, arrived in Kohima on March 24 on his maiden visit to Nagaland after assuming charge of Additional Director General (ADG) North Eastern Region (NER). 

According to a press release from the PIB (Defence Wing), Major General Bhuyan visited the Kohima War Cemetery and paid homage. He appreciated the efforts undertaken for maintaining the world famous war memorial in an impeccable manner.

The ADG later visited the Group Headquarters where he was given a ceremonial guard of honour by cadets of 1 Nagaland (Girls) Battalion NCC.

He was briefed by the Group Commander, Brigadier K Venugopal, Sena Medal on various issues pertaining to functioning of NCC in Nagaland. The ADG was also provided with an update on the Border Area Expansion Plan in the State.  He also interacted with the NCC cadets and Associated NCC Officers and felicitated the achievers.  Lauding the efforts of the NCC in Nagaland, he especially commended the cadets for the yeoman service during the lockdown and subsequent period of the pandemic.

He appreciated the strides made by the NCC units to impart online training which was necessitated owing to the closure of educational institutions.

Major General Bhuyan also called on Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and apprised him about the NCC activities and expansion plans of NCC being undertaken in the State.
