NCC’s 6th EBSB camp sees cultural exchange between Gujarat and NE states 

Kohima, March 17 (MExN): The sixth version of NCC Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) Camp from March 10-16 witnessed online webinar of cultural exchange between Gujarat and North East states.

The camp was conducted online under the leadership of Col Abdul Hameed Khan Commanding Officer, 1 Nagaland Girls Bn. NCC, Kohima Group, from its control room with North Eastern Region as host Directorate and Gujarat as the guest Directorate.
Altogether 400 cadets - 200 cadets from either side attended the camp, informed a press release received here.  

The aim of the EBSB VI camp was to showcase the rich culture of India - a land of unity in diversity with multiple culture, ethnicities, languages, traditions, religion etc, it said. 

During six-day camp, the cadets have been through the various dimensions of India’s plurality as a nation and witnessed different life styles, cultures, festivals, cuisines and languages of other states, it added. 

The camp also deliberated on two special subjects -“water conservation” and “Job opportunities in the Food Industry” while different competitions such as Declamation, poetry recitation and poster making, Folk dances and songs and quiz competitions were conducted, the release said.  

Delivering the closing address, Maj Gen Ananta Bhuyan, ADG, of NCC Directorate, NER exhorted the cadets of all the participated states to visit each other and explore India in its true sense before exploring the world. 

“It is only after we have seen India in totality, that when we go to other countries, we’ll realise the diversity existing in our own country,” he added. 

Apart from Col Khan, the conducting team comprised Lt TK Medoweu, Associate NCC Officer (ANO)  and Asst Prof Geography, Kohima Science College; Lt Kekhriesenuo Solo, ANO and Teacher, St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Kohima; SUO Manine Alice, Ex NCC Cadet, KSC; and JUO Puja Devi, BA 3rdyr, Kohima Science College, Kohima.
