The legal wrangling over office occupancy of the Naga Council Dimapur received yet another directive from the court in December. An appeal, filed by elected office bearers, to quash an order of the Civil Judge (Senior Division), Dimapur issued on October 19, 2020, was dismissed by the Principal District & Sessions Court, Dimapur.   The election of new NCD executives was contested by other members resulting in a court battle.  The Principal District court, in an order dated December 16, 2020, upheld the admission of Interlocutory Appeal (IA 93/2020) by the Civil Judge (Senior Division) and the resultant order passed by the latter on October 19.  The December 16 order read, “Consequently, this appeal fails and is hereby dismissed. The LCR be returned to the court of the Civil Judge Senior Division, Dimapur.” The appeal arose from Civil Suit 6/2020.
