DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 23 (MExN) : Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) can be the alternative government said N. Hotongse Sangtam, senior vice president NCP Nagaland State Unit.
Speaking at the sideline of Former Lok Sabha Speaker visit to the state, Sangtam said the NCP as a party was doing good in the state and said that in the Congress party there was no unity and that the public had lost their trust in the party and even the ruling Naga People's Front (NPF) as a regional party without a national party backing cannot move forward.
Sangtam said the NDA package that former Prime minister, Atal Bihari gave in 2003 has been also been exhausted.
Asked what the NCP legislator would be in 2013 electionj he said the party might win above 10 seats. On the defection of the two legislator, Sangtam said it was a ploy to shake the foundation of the NCP and he furthered said that the NCP has restructured itself, On ENPO demand for a " Frontier Nagaland" he said it was because of "shortage of development" he also added "we are not trying to divide the Nagas" but we also deserve development, he added.
