NCSU expels ‘unofficial’ presidents

Kohima, OCT 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors and ‘Suppliers’ Union (NCSU), Head Office Kohima has expelled LZ Chishi and Setepsi Sangtam (termed by the NCSU as ‘acting unofficial Presidents’ of their respective district units) from the union’s membership for not complying with its regulations.

The NCSU stated in a press release that it had served several reminders to the Dimapur District unit directing it not to elect any office bearers without approval of the Head Office.

The Dimapur unit had ignored the directives of the head office and had made LZ Chishi the unofficial president, according to the NCSU. Chishi has been alleged of convening meetings when he was Vice-President and of carrying out activities without the knowledge of his President.

He has also been said to have gone on fund drives with a person going by the name of B Wati Ao without the approval of the head office. Based on the abovementioned, the NCSU has dissolved the Dimapur unit of the NCSU.

Similarly, the Kiphire district has also been dissolved as according to the NCSU, the unit had violated the union’s constitution by electing an unofficial President, Setepsi Sangtam without the approval of the head office.

Mapu Imchen and Holise Sangtam have been designated as caretaker presidents of the Dimapur and Kiphire units respectively until further notice.
