The Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) today honoured two traffic personnel in recognition of their service in dealing with the traffic in the state capital, Kohima. The recipients includes; Traffic Constable Nusütso Dawhuo of North Traffic Police Station and 15th IR Mahila Battalion Havildar Imtikala Imsong, attached to South Traffic Police Station.
NCSU Secretary N Neilo Koza led the felicitation of the Best Traffic Award 2020 coinciding with NCSU Advent Christmas, held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima. NCSU President Pele Khezhie handed over Rs. 10,000 each to the recipients.
Delivering the message, NCSU advisor Povotso Lohe said Christmas is a time for reconciliation between man and God. He told the gathering to remember that Christmas is a time to give thanks to the Lord who was born to save humanity. He expressed hope that this festive season would usher in peace and oneness among the Naga society. He said the arrival of the gospel of Christ had ultimately transformed the Naga society from the primitive days of head hunting into a civilized and God fearing people.
“Educational progress accompanied by socio-economic development has come to the Naga society through the preaching of the gospel of Christ,” he said.
Maintaining that the festivity is shattered with the COVID-19 pandemic, he said it is through Christ the suffering of humanity will pass away. “We need to constantly uphold one another in our prayers so as to overcome this global fatal virus which is not over yet,” Lohe said.
NCSU president Pele Khezhie extending greetings on the occasion said it is a joyous occasion as everyone is celebrating the birth of Saviour Jesus Christ. He said that this is time to forgive each other for the past misdeeds and re-union for good in the name of God. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic), Manom Wallim appreciated NCSU always been kind to traffic police and recognizing the traffic personnel during this festive season.
“Your prayer and your support is what sustain us, encourage us in our pursuit to deliver public service for the society,” he said. Appealing all to celebrate Christmas in the true essence of rejoicing in the birth of Jesus Christ, he expressed hope that NCSU and its members would grow for the betterment of society.
The programme was chaired by NCSU, Vice President, KL Setuo Rutsa while vote of thanks was proposed by NCSU Secretary Imsunok Jamir.
