CSA office dissolved
Kohima, March 13 (MExN): The Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) today informed that its office stands dissolved. CSA in a press release said the meeting which was held to “discuss relevant matters about transition of CSA to Chakhroma Youth Association (CYO) and transfer of existing CSA property,” stands cancelled, “in honoring” the decision of CPO. “It was never CSA’s intention to go against or oppose CPO’s verdict, however in accordance with CPO decision we the CSA convened the meeting to discuss relevant issues for transition,” the release said.
Peren DTF discusses COVID-19
Peren, March 13 (MExN): Peren District Task Force (DTF) meeting on COVID-19 was held on March 13 at DC Peren Office Chamber under the chairmanship of DC Peren cum DTF Chairman, Sentiwapang Aier. District Surveillance Officer, Dr Kevi Meyase gave a brief introductory note on COVID-19 and also highlighted on the present status of COVID-19 in Nagaland. He also apprised the board members on some of the early signs and symptoms of COVID-19 as well as on preventive measures. The members also discussed on the need to create community awareness in all the sub-divisions of Peren district. The DC also assured to issue directives in the form of advisory in the district at the earliest.
FNBA general assembly
Kohima, March 13 (MExN): The Fellowship of Naga Baptist Associations (FNBA) will hold its general assembly under the theme “Live peaceably with all” at Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kohima on March 17 and 18. FNBA president Rev Dr Visor H Zeliang and Ao Baptist Arogo Mundang (ABAM) executive secretary Rev Dr Mar Atsongchanger will speak on the occasion. FNBA in a press release informed every Naga Baptist Association with at least three delegates and all the committee members of FNBA to attend the programme.
Kohima DPDB meet
Kohima, March 13 (MExN): The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board meeting for the month of March will be held on March 16 (Monday) at 10:00 AM in DPDB's Conference Hall Kohima. All DPDB members have been informed to make it convenient and attend the meeting.
Five presenters at Tetso College Round Table Conference
Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): The 2nd Round Table Conference with the theme "Emerging Issues in Indian Politics post 2014 General Election" was organized at under-graduate level on March 13 at the College Auditorium. The event is in continuation of the Round Table Conference Series, conceptualized by the Department of Political Science, Tetso College with a purpose to inculcate a spirit of inquiry, research and critical thinking among undergraduate and post-graduate students. Five student presenters from different academic departments of the college took part. The conference was chaired by Dr P Kapesa while keynote address was delivered by Dr Rimmei Longmei, Head of the Department. Welcome note was given by Dr Sabur Ali M, Coordinator of the Conference and a special address was delivered by Prof (Dr) PS Lorin, Principal, Tetso College. The conference concluded with a word of thanks and concluding remarks from Dr Aniruddha Babar. The Principal, Vice Principal, Dean, professors and students from different academic departments graced the event.
CHC Changtongya holds awareness on COVID-19
Mokokchung, March 13 (MExN): Awareness programme on the novel coronavirus was held at Changtongya Town Hall on March 12, organised by senior Medical Officer (SMO) Community Health Center (CHC) Changtongya. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jungshi SMO CHC Changtongya said that the virus, also known as COVID-19 has been declared pandemic by WHO to prevent it from spreading. He urged all to avoid closed physical contact to protect and prevent from COVID-19 infection that could occur from touching your eyes, mouth & nose. He added that it can also spread by shaking hands, while advising that the safest greeting to be practiced now would be a wave, nod or a bow. Dr Jungshi further urged all to be well prepared for its prevention and tackling in case of any outbreak under Changtongya sub-division. Asangla Mar, Nurse CHC Changtongya highlighted on the common syndrome of the virus which includes cough, headache, fever and sneezing. She also spoke on preventive measures to be taken to avoid spreading the disease. SDO (C) Changtongya, Moakunzuk Tzudir chaired the programme and urged all stakeholders to spread awareness.
