KVK Phek conducts XVIth Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting virtually at KVK Conference Hall, Porba on December 17. The meeting chaired by Dr Nazrul Haque, Director (I/C), ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema was attended by the District officials, progressive farmers, and representative from NGOs, Nagaland State Cooperative Bank. Dr T Esther Longkumer, Senior Scientist & Head Incharge, KVK, Phek welcomed the members of the SAC and briefed about the KVK mandates and activities. She presented the progress report of 2020. The annual action plan of KVK Phek for the year 2021 was presented by Dr Rinku Bharali and necessary suggestions were sought for incorporation in the plan. All together 22 participants attended the meeting which concluded with words of appreciation by Dr Debojyoti Borkotoky, ACTO-Animal Science.
KVK Peren conducted the 4th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting at Hotel Tamzaipa, Conference Hall on December 16 with Deputy Commissioner, Peren Sentiwapang Aier as special guest. Dr Arun Sangwan, Dean College of Veterinary Science, CAU Jalukie; Dr Azeze, Scientist Horticulture, Dr Aabon Yanthan Scientist Horticulture and Dr Harendra Verma, Scientist (PBG) of ICAR Nagaland Centre also spoke during the programme. Dr L Babita Devi, Senior Scientist & Head I/C presented the action taken report of the last SAC recommendation, Annual progress report (2020) and Annual Action plan (2021). The meeting was attended by 23 officials.
ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema launched the Swachhata Pakhwada fortnight with the participation of all the staff from December 16 to 31. The programme started with reading of Swachhata Pledge by the participants led by Director I/c, Dr Stephen Sapuni Hanah, Scientist. Day one activities included basic housekeeping drives and creating awareness and self preparedness against covid19 pandemic presented by Dr Vivek Joshi, Scientist, Medicine and Health. Dr Kobu Khate, CTO & Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission coordinated the programme.
MLA & Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Women Resource Development, Government of Nagaland, R Khing inaugurated Phenshünyu Chwida (Centenary Gate) at Phenshünyu Village, Tseminyu, Kohima constructed under LADF 2019-2020 on December 17 in the presence of ADC Tseminyu, church, village leaders, elders and host of dignitaries.
