CSU to celebrate platinum jubilee

Kohima, November 7 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) is all set to celebrate its platinum jubilee by February next year under the theme ‘Towards a refined guild’. Central Organizing Committee (COC) Convenor Mütsikhoyo Yhobu informed that CSU was formed in 1947 during a very crucial stage, especially in the political and Naga movement and that it had been representing the community in various platforms. He said that CSU was one of the pioneers in addressing community issues and has played key roles in ensuring people’s welfare in various capacities.
 


4 arrested with illicit liquor in Mon

Mon, November 7 (MExN): The HQ IGAR (N) on Sunday informed that four individuals were apprehended with illicit liquor at general area Mon Town, on November 5. “Based on a specific input, Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended four individuals and recovered 106 bottles of illicit liquor worth approx Rs 60,000 at general area Mon Town,” a press release from the HQ IGAR (N) informed. The apprehended individuals along with the recovered items have been handed over to Mon Police Station, Mon District for further investigation, it added.


Mon: NSCN (K-YA) cadre apprehended

Mon, November 7 (MExN): Security Forces in a joint operation with Police apprehended a cadre of NSCN (K-YA) in general area Lungwa village, Mon on November 3. According to a press release from the HQ IGAR (N), based on a specific input, the security forces and police in a joint operation arrested the cadre who was reportedly involved in multiple illegal extortion activities in the Konyak region. He had reportedly been operating from a camp of the NSCN (K-YA) located in Myanmar at general area Lungwa village, Mon. The apprehended individual have been handed over to Mon Police Station, Mon District for further investigation, the release added.


NSCN (IM) mourns

Dimapur, November 7 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) mourned the demise of H Daihrii, Razou Peyu of NSCN/GPRN from Chowainamai Khullen village under Shepoumaramth Region, who passed away on November 6 after a prolonged illness. “He joined the Naga national service on the 19th May, 1958 and retired. Later, he joined NSCN/GPRN on the 25th February, 2017 as a Razou Peyu and served the Naga nation with dedication until his demise,” the NSCN (IM) stated in a press release issued through its MIP on Sunday. The void created by his demise is deeply felt and would be difficult to fill, it added. Conveying condolences to the bereaved family, the NSCN (IM) prayed for late H Daihrii to rest in peace.
