Next NDPP-BJP govt will be more effective: Chingwang Konyak

NPPP President, Party CEB kick off State tour 

Wokha, October 18 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) President, Chingwang Konyak has asserted that the NDPP-BJP alliance will comes back to power in the State and the “next government will be more effective” with both parties learning from experiences.

As promised, we have maintained stability and I want to ensure that NDPP and BJP alliance come back to power  with comfortortable margin, Chingwang stated, addressing an interactive  meeting with the party cadres including office bearers of the NDPP Wokha Region, its frontals and the 4 assembly constituencies under the region on October 16. 

The NDPP in a press release informed that the party president kick started his tour itinerary of the State reached Wokha along with members of the its Central Executive Board (CEB) on Monday. 

During the meeting with the members of the Wokha Region, Chingwang narrated that ‘against all odds’ and barely 9 months after its formation, the NDPP entered into electoral alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Due strong leadership under Neiphiu Rio, we came to power, he maintained, adding: "Without a strong leadership, no political party or government can function smoothly."

As per the release, the president also gave a patient hearing to all the issues raised by the region and also shared about the ongoing Naga Political talk and other hardship faced by the State and the Government. 

He also called on the party workers to work cohesively for a thumbing victory of the NDPP Wokha Region’s candidates from which ever Assembly constituency they may be contest, it added.

Votes for party candidates will not fall from the sky, it will be decided by the grass root voters, he asserted, advising the members to work accordingly, and win the favor and support of the respective electorate voters.

At the meeting, the CEB members in the tour team stressed on the relevant strictures or matters relating to the party’s constitutional discipline and cautioned of disciplinary action against any party worker indulging in derogatory anti party activity, the release informed. 

The NDPP Wokha Region also gave an account of the primary and active members’ enrolment while assuring to work with invigorated spirit on all party tasks such as the enrolment, members registrations and appointment of booth Level Agents in all polling stations, it said. 

The region’s party office also submitted a memorandum which included appeal for the party’s consideration towards sanction and grant of long awaited imminent needs of the party’s region, it added. 

The President’s entourage included Charlie Sekhose, Senior Vice President; Benjamin Lorin, Vice President; TL Merry, Vice President; Kikheto Y Murru;  Imchatoba Imchen, President, NDPP Youth Organization; and Tali Pongen, President, Agri and Allied Organisation.
