NFHRCC appeals for adherence to 2013 resolutions

DIMAPUR, MARCH 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has once again called on the public to respect and adhere to the 2013 resolutions adopted by the Tribal Apex Hoho, to donate land free of compensation for the construction of Nagaland Foothills Road.

While appreciating the people of Nagaland for their kind co operations despite so many challenges and sacrifices, the committee also thank the State Government for securing the SASCI Scheme soft loan fulfilling the aspirations of the Nagaland Dream project under the leadership of the CM Neiphiu Rio and Minister of NPWD,R&B G. Kaito Aye.

It once again urged upon the authority not to compromise on the quality control whatsoever it may be and strictly comply to the original alignments as already approved in 2013 except on slight minor inevitable re alignments.

The committee also appealed to the NPWD, Roads & Bridges department to honor the agreement made during the March 5, 2025 meeting, particularly in regard to the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) by contractor firms that have not yet signed.

Additionally, the NFHRCC raised concerns about the use of allegedly substandard materials at the Shanthatchu and Jakvantchu Rivers in the Baghty Division. Despite assurances from the Executive Engineer (EE) of PWD (R&B) Baghty that the issue had been addressed, the committee requested that the materials not be removed until a joint inspection by the committee, technical teams, and local CSOs is conducted to verify the situation.
