Maligaon, March 25 (MExN): The Alipurduar Division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has achieved 100% electrification with the completion of the Fakiragram–Golakganj section, spanning 46 Route Kilometres (RKM) / 50.536 Track Kilometres (TKM), and the New Coochbehar–Dinhata–Bamanhat section, covering 49.81 RKM / 55.71 TKM.
According to an NFR official release, the achievement includes major upgrades such as SCADA implementation, Trip Unit Rating supply at stations, and successful electric loco trials.
It also informed that it is progressing steadily in its electrification efforts, supporting Indian Railways’ ambitious vision of achieving 100% electrification and net-zero carbon emissions.
Electrification work in the Tinsukia Division (TSK) is also advancing at a steady pace, with work on the Mariani–Jorhat Town section progressing well, according to the press release from NFR CPRO, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma.
With these advancements, the NFR remains committed to modernising railway infrastructure and actively contributing to the Government of India's "Mission Electrification" initiative, it added.
