NFR extends special train services, announces cancellations and rescheduling on hill section

MALIGAON, JULY 29 (MExN): Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the operation of six pairs of special trains to assist passengers affected by the ongoing flood situation in parts of Assam, while also announcing the cancellation, rescheduling and regulation of several train services on the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section due to continuing restoration work.

According to an NFR press release, the six pairs of special trains operating across the Tinsukia, Lumding and Rangiya divisions will continue to run with their existing schedules.

The services of Train Nos. 05831/05832 (Mariani–Rangiya–Mariani) have been extended by one additional trip each on July 31. Train Nos. 05911/05912 (Tinsukia–Bhojo–New Tinsukia) will operate two additional trips each on July 30 and 31, while Train Nos. 05913/05914 (New Tinsukia–Moranhat–Tinsukia) have been extended for three additional trips each from July 29 to 31.

Train Nos. 07641/07642 (Lumding–Mariani–Lumding) will also operate three additional trips each from July 29 to 31. Train No. 07643 (Lumding–Mariani) will run two extra trips on July 30 and 31, while the return service, Train No. 07644 (Mariani–Lumding), will operate two additional trips on July 31 and August 1.

Train Nos. 05932/05931 (Dibrugarh–Kolkata–Dibrugarh) have been extended for five additional trips each. Train No. 05932 will run every Saturday from August 1 to 29, while Train No. 05931 will operate every Monday from August 3 to 31.

NFR also revised the scheduled timing of Train No. 05931 (Kolkata–Dibrugarh) at Rangiya railway station with effect from August 3. The train will now arrive at 8:30 pm and depart at 8:40 pm.

In view of ongoing restoration work, Train No. 15615 (Guwahati–Silchar) Express scheduled to commence its journey on July 30 and Train No. 15616 (Silchar–Guwahati) Express scheduled to commence its journey on July 31 have been cancelled.

Several services have also been rescheduled on July 30. These include Train No. 15650 (Narangi–Agartala), which will now depart at 10:30 pm; Train No. 15649 (Agartala–Narangi) at 11:30 pm; Train No. 15609 (Guwahati–Sairang) at 11:30 pm; Train No. 15610 (Sairang–Guwahati) at 9:30 pm; Train No. 15611 (Rangiya–Silchar) at 11:30 pm; Train No. 15612 (Silchar–Rangiya) at 5 am on July 31; Train No. 14619 (Agartala–Firozpur Cantt.) at 11 pm; and Train No. 15608 (Silchar–Thiruvananthapuram Central) at 4:10 am on July 31. Additionally, Train No. 12503 (SMVT Bengaluru–Agartala) Humsafar Express, which commenced its journey on July 28, will be regulated en route, NFR said.
