MALIGAON, AUGUST 31 (MExN): Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), conducted an inspection and interactive session with field officials at New Jalpaiguri station on August 31. The visit was part of his efforts to ensure safety and efficiency in train operations under the Katihar Division.
Accompanied by Surendra Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager of Katihar, and senior officials from both headquarters and the division, Shrivastava addressed various categories of railway staff, including Loco Inspectors and Traffic Inspectors. In his address, Shrivastava emphasized the critical importance of maintaining high safety standards and urged officials to remain vigilant at all times.
During the visit, the General Manager inspected the upgraded Running Room at New Jalpaiguri railway station. This facility provides essential rest and recreation for train operating staff, including drivers and guards. Shrivastava reviewed the infrastructure and amenities available, ensuring they meet the needs of the loco pilots and assistant loco pilots who often work late hours.
In his interactions with the staff, Shrivastava underscored the need for proper rest and nutrition to maintain alertness and safety in their duties. He also engaged with railway officials at various stations, seeking feedback on operational issues and gauging their awareness of safety protocols.
