NFR inaugurates KAVACH Lab Model at training centre

Maligaon, October 17 (MExN): A state-of-the-art KAVACH Lab Model was inaugurated by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, General Manager of the Northeast Frontier Railway, at the Signal & Telecom Specialized Training Centre in Pandu.

The commissioning of this advanced facility marks a significant step in Indian Railways' efforts to enhance the safety and reliability of train operations, officials said.

KAVACH, adopted as the National Automatic Train Protection System in July 2020, is an indigenously developed safety technology designed to prevent train collisions, ensure adherence to signals, and automatically regulate train speed.

The new lab is equipped with all essential KAVACH subsystems, including Station KAVACH, Loco KAVACH, Radio Frequency Communication, and simulation panels. It is designed to realistically simulate train movements between stations to provide comprehensive, hands-on training for Signal & Telecom personnel, Loco Pilots, and other railway staff.

By replicating real-world conditions, the facility aims to enhance understanding of system functionalities and fault diagnostics, thereby boosting the technical proficiency of personnel for safer train operations across the network.
