NFR introduces weekly special train services

Maligaon, July 21 (MExN): In a bid to alleviate the summer travel rush, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the introduction of a new weekly special train service between Katihar and Amritsar.

This service aims to address the increased demand for passenger travel during the summer months and will operate for four trips in both directions.

The new service, set to commence on July 25, will run until August 17th, 2024. Train No. 05734, the Katihar–Amritsar special, will depart from Katihar every Thursday at 11:40 AM and arrive in Amritsar at 12:10 AM on Saturday. In the reverse direction, Train No. 05733, the Amritsar–Katihar special, will leave Amritsar every Saturday at 4:25 AM, reaching Katihar at 3:00 PM on Sunday.

This service will provide a significant boost to the connectivity between Bihar and northern India, fostering economic activities and providing convenience for students and laborers.

The train will make stops at major stations including Naugachia, Muzaffarpur, Narkatiaganj, Gorakhpur Junction, Gonda Junction, Kanpur Central, Old Delhi Junction, Chandigarh Junction, and Jalandhar City Junction, among others.

The train will be equipped with two AC 3-tier coaches, fourteen sleeper class coaches, and four general second-class coaches, ensuring comfortable travel for passengers. Those on waitlists for other trains on these routes will find this new service a valuable alternative during the busy summer period.

Passengers are encouraged to check the detailed schedule and stoppages on the IRCTC website or through various newspapers and social media platforms of the NF Railway.

Verifying details before travel is recommended to ensure a smooth journey.
