Maligaon, June 6 (MExN): The Ticket Checking Section of New Jalpaiguri (NJP) under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has recorded its highest-ever monthly ticket checking revenue, collecting more than Rs 2.08 crore in May 2026, officials said on June 6.

According to NFR, the collection is the highest monthly ticket checking revenue achieved by any section across the railway zone and reflects sustained efforts to ensure ticket compliance, curb ticketless travel and protect railway revenue.

The record was achieved through continuous ticket checking drives, strict enforcement measures and coordinated teamwork by the ticket checking staff of the NJP section.

During May, the section registered an average daily earning of over Rs 6.54 lakh, while the highest single-day collection of more than Rs 9.65 lakh was recorded on May 9.

Railway officials attributed the achievement to the dedicated workforce at the NJP TTE Lobby, whose efficiency and commitment to duty contributed significantly to the record-breaking performance.

The success was also supported by several outstanding individual performances by ticket checking staff, which helped establish a new benchmark for ticket checking earnings in the Northeast Frontier Railway zone.

Northeast Frontier Railway General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava and other senior officials congratulated the NJP ticket checking team for the achievement, describing it as a reflection of the zone's continued commitment to revenue protection, transparency, accountability and ticketing awareness.

The railway said the accomplishment is expected to inspire other sections and employees across the zone to strive for higher standards of service and operational performance.
