Maligaon, September 23 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) conducted plantation and cleanliness drives across its five divisions as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva initiative.
The drives were held at railway stations, offices, hospitals, workshops, and residential colonies, with active participation from railway officials and Safai Mitras.
The plantation drive, organised under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ was described as a tribute to motherhood and environmental conservation. The initiative reflects NFR's commitment to a "cleaner and greener future" in the Northeast region, the statement said.
Alongside the plantation, massive cleanliness activities were undertaken in railway colonies, stations, and public areas. Safai Mitras and staff worked together to clean surroundings, remove waste, and spread awareness about maintaining hygiene.
The campaign aimed not only to improve cleanliness but also to inspire residents and passengers to adopt sustainable practices, Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR stated in a press release.
