NHM employees assoc.  seek clarification

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 21 (MExN): The NHM Employees Association today issued a rejoinder to a report published on January 18 titled ‘Despite fresh recruitment, shortage of doctors persist in Nagaland State.’ The rejoinder informed that the number of the total vacancies advertised was 183 and not 199 as mentioned in the report. It further said that only 108 candidates were appointed till date out of the 186 who applied and not 168.  The association urged the Nagaland In-Service Doctors Association (NIDA) to clarify on the above mentioned points. Meanwhile, the association further questioned “when all those as above mentioned applied, why only a certain number were selected and on what basis was the selection done.” It also asked if the selection was based on merit list as the department had assured previously when the posts were advertised. Another query it posed was if there is such shortage of doctors “why were all who applied not appointed.” “We are requesting for transparency of such criteria,” the association added.
