NIDA calls off proposed agitation

Kohima, April 11 (MExN): The Nagaland In-Service Association (NIDA) has decided to call off its proposed agitation following the state Chief Secretary’s assurance that the matter of increasing the superannuation age of doctors would be resolved “in a fast tracked and amicable manner.”

Stating this in a press release on Sunday, Convenor, NIDA Core Committee on Superannuation Dr Thorhusie Katiry and NIDA President Dr E Phyantsuthung informed that the decision was taken during an emergency meeting between NIDA executives and Core Committee on Superannuation on April 11.  “This decision was arrived at with the full conviction that the government will show utmost sincerity to bring about a logical conclusion to the issue,” it added.
