Nito Theological College (NTC) organised an Open Penalty Shootout Tournament at the Zunheboto Government College Ground on July 18, drawing the participation of 32 teams from across the district.

Speaking as the special guest, Zhuli Chishi, Councillor of the Zunheboto Town Council said that sports provide a platform for people to come together, work as a team, coordinate and plan collectively, thereby strengthening individual character and team spirit. Stressing that victory and defeat are both part of life, she encouraged participants to value participation above winning.

“Always acknowledge and support one another, build strong teams, make friends with everyone, and maintain patience and discipline in life. These values will take you far,” she told the participants.

The programme was chaired by Academic Dean of NTC, Vilibo K Yeptho. The invocation was offered by Vinoli M, followed by a welcome song presented by NTC students. Principal Tony K delivered the welcome address, while Tocky V Jimomi, Convenor of the Special Project, proposed the vote of thanks.

The tournament featured 32 participating teams from across the district. In the final, The Chai Boys emerged as the champions, while FIFA 26 secured the runners-up position.
