The Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest (SARFAESI) Act, 2002 and Transplantation of Human Organ Act, 1994 and Transplantation of Human Organ Act (Amendment) 2021 were adopted by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) today.
The resolutions on these two acts were moved by the government on November 25, with the SARFAESI Act being an issue of public debate over the past months.
The House also adopted three government bills—Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fourth Amendment) Bill, 2021, Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (Fifth Amendment) Bill, 2021 and Nagaland Lokayukta (Second Amendment) Bill, 2021.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Tourism and Art & Culture Advisor, Khehovi Yepthomi made a brief statement under Rule 136 on the Hornbill Festival 2021.
The demand for the regularization of excess expenditure for the year 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-17 was also passed by the house. Further, the House passed the Nagaland Appropriation (No.5) Bill 2021, Nagaland Appropriation (No. 6) Bill 2021 and Nagaland Appropriation (No. 7) Bill 2021.
Earlier, Mhathung Yanthan, Chairman of the Committee on Public Undertakings 2021-22 presented several Assembly Committee Reports regarding the Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NHHDC), Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation (NSMDC), NDIC, NHL, NIRMSC, Nagaland Hotels Limited, Nagaland Industrial Raw Materials Supply Corporation Limited and the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation.
Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer adjourned the 9th session of 13th NLA sine-die after completing all the business of the two day session. Longkumer termed the two day sitting as “fruitful.”
He thanked all sections of the House, along with security and administrative officials or ensuring smooth conduct of the session.
