NMA rues crime by women

Dimapur, September 17 (MExN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) is unhappy that a woman in Dimapur allegedly attempted to murder her husband, on September 13, “when women are raising serious concern over the increasing spate of criminal violence against women in our state.” A note from the NMA received here said the alleged crime is an “an insult and shame to womanhood in general.” A woman from Saduki/Ahoa village under Dhansiripar sub-division allegedly attempted to kill her husband after drugging him. “The NMA deeply expressed that when women are raising serious concern over the increasing spate of criminal violence against women in our state, the NMA today vehemently condemn the horrific incident of a mother of five who attempted to kill her husband,” the NMA stated. “NMA also strongly condemned the manner in which Akashi the wife, drugged him with sleeping pills…such insane behavior cannot be imagined by any civilized person.”  Whatever the reason may be, the organization said, “such diabolic attitude with selfish motive and behavior by a mother is beyond comprehension.NMA expressed that such an act by a mother to her own husband is viewed very seriously and also an insult and shame to womanhood in general.” The organization appeals to the authorities to ‘investigate the case with all seriousness and punish according to the law.
