
DIMAPUR, MAY 17 (MExN): The NNC/FGN commemorated the 72nd anniversary of the Naga Plebiscite in a befitting manner on May 16 at Toulozuma village, Chümoukedima, Noklak and Wokha.
Ministry of rali wali affairs, FGN in a press statement said the program at Noklak town was chaired by P Samuel, kilonser, border affairs FGN and Bible reading & prayer by L K Pishen, chaplain. Plebiscite message of NNC president was delivered by Dr Aimong, joint secretary NNC and short speech delivered by P. Puthai Lam, kilo kilonser FGN. Benediction was pronounced by Lusang, executive member NNC.
At Toulozuma village, the commemoration programme which was attended by most of the high ranking officials of the NNC/FGN was chaired by Ghuvishe V. Zhimomi, secretary general, FGN.
Invocation prayer and Bible reading was led by Hekhuvi Achumi, kilonser FGN.
Plebiscite message of the NNC president was delivered by Bengdang Sangtam, vice president, NNC. A special song was presented by Asu Shijoh and friends. Short speeches were delivered by Brig (Retd) S. Singnya, kedahge, FGN and Zhopra Vero, kedallo FGN. Benediction was pronounced by major general Anito Yepthomi, GOC Western Command, Naga Army.
In his speech, S. Singnya stressed on the need of Naga unity at this crucial hour and at the same time the necessity for an early solution to the protracted Indo- Naga political problem.
At Wokha, the NNC (Lotha Region) observed the Plebiscite day with Nyamo Murry, advisor cum central executive committee member reading out the Plebiscite theme while the meeting was chaired by Orenthung Yanthan, joint secretary, NNC (Lotha Region).
