NNF appeals for resuming issuance of societies’ registration renewal

Dimapur, July 9 (MExN): The Nagaland NGOs Forum (NNF) has written an appeal to the Chief Secretary appealing to resume issuance of societies’ registration renewal.

The NNF, President, Dr Y Hesheto Chishi and General Secretary, Chenithung Humtsoe in the appeal stated that all the registered societies required renewing their registration after every two years.

However, the Forum said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, all files movement remains standstill.

“As a result, the societies who require renewal of registration from March 2020 till date are facing untold challenges to renew the ongoing projects as well as applying for new projects,” the Forum stated while adding that for qualifying the application on both cases, an updated registration is mandatory for all governmental and other nongovernmental agencies' schemes.

Therefore, NNF has appealed to the CS to intervene in the districts level to start processing of renewal of society's registrations lying under their disposals at the earliest so as to allow the functional NGOs to carry forward their works without much hindrances.
