Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): Exasperated at not being responded to by the state government of Nagaland on the 6th RoP “initiatives”, the Confederation of All Nagaland State Service Employees’ Association today set June 25 as the ultimatum before launching agitations.
The CANSSEA executives issued a note today directing all the confederation’s units throughout the state to “activate the preparatory ground for taking further course of action” as decided in the general body meeting of June 4 if “no positive response” is received from the government on or before June 25.
The CANSSEA had put forward “our demands in written twice” to the government addressed to the chairman of the Cabinet sub-committee for redress, the CANSSEA note said. “But so far no positive response has been received from the Cabinet sub-committee. It may be noted that, during the last meeting with the cabinet sub-committee, the house expressed its sincere desire to resolve the stalemate amicably through dialogue. Basing on this ground, the confederation in sincere hope anticipated that government would consider our genuine demands of 6 ROP within the timeframe,” the CANSSEA said.
According to the CANSSEA, the state government had stated that Rs.712 Crore has been allotted by the Central government “for implementation of the 6th ROP in Nagaland; however there still looms uncertainty in the sincerity of the state government in implementing the ROP with true justice.” Also, the All India Services (AIS) has been given their due share of arrears with effect from January 1, 2006 “but the state employees are being forced to accept arrearlerss notional increment from 1st June 2008, why cannot there be a little more kindness shown to the state employees by at least allowing us get arrears for period of one year, if it is not implemented from 1st Jan. 2006 like AIS all over India.”
The CANSSEA added: “In view of above mentioned initiatives taken by CANSSEA core group and not receiving positive reply from Government, the CANSSEA hereby directs all the confederated associations throughout the state to activate the preparatory ground for taking further course of action as resolved in the last general body meeting held on 4th June 2010. If no positive response comes forward from government on or before 25th June 2010.”
