Kohima, September 7 (MExN): The NPF Central Youth Wing on Monday termed the unanimous passage of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill in the State Legislative Assembly as a “landmark achievement” that will reshape the political and developmental landscape of the eastern frontier of Nagaland.
In a statement issued by its Media Cell, the youth wing said the Bill’s smooth passage reflects the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Dr Neiphiu Rio and the resolute political will of the PDA-led Government, backed by the trust and support of all representatives. It added that the legislation was passed in a “befitting and dignified manner,” upholding the highest ideals of democratic governance.
The FNTA Bill, which establishes an autonomous governing body for the six eastern districts, is expected to bridge longstanding developmental gaps and bring governance and public services directly to remote and far-flung areas. The youth wing noted the decentralised approach as a crucial step toward inclusive progress, ensuring that “no community is left behind.”
Congratulating the people of Eastern Nagaland, the NPF Central Youth Wing said the new Authority fulfils a long-cherished aspiration for a unique self-governing body that will enable the region to realise its social, economic, educational, cultural, and linguistic goals on an equal footing with the rest of the Naga community.
Quoting CM Dr Neiphiu Rio, the statement emphasised. “This is not just an administrative arrangement, but a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to ensure equitable development, unity, and progress for all sections of our people.”
The youth wing expressed hope that the entire eastern frontier would now progress at an unprecedented pace, uplifting all communities under the banner of the FNTA, and extended its heartfelt appreciation to the PDA Government for steering the historic legislation through the House.
